Defense vs Positions

I have been very hesitant on putting this info out there but anyone could of found it. But I did not draft a great team and I seem to never draft a great team lol. But what I rely on the most is my advance stats and love of crunching numbers. This has proven to help me in the past and sure enough it has done well for me so far this year. I am just scared you guys will start going after the same guys I do. Lock time battles could get very intense after this blog post.

When looking for a juicy match up, sometimes we just look at the numbers to tell us who we should add. When in fact a big part of what we should be looking at is the match ups.... Down below you are going to see each position broke down from top 10 and worst 10... I use draft kings site a lot, so the numbers you see are actually how many draft king points each position gives up. It would be the same in our league but with just less points.

Also when making your acquisitions you should put some thought into the pace of play. Some teams don't have a very much up tempo of play. And if you find that 2 teams are playing each other that are low tempo then there is good chance that that guy could go below average that night... But vice versa if you get two teams that are up tempo , then that could make for a juicy play if you have to make a add or just simply decide between 2 guys on your roster on who to play. Here is all 30 teams and there pace of play over the last 10 games.

Average number of possessions a game
1. Lal  108.6
2. Tor  107.1
3. NO  106.2
4. Orl  105.5
5. Atl  105.1

27. Was  94.9

30. Mem  92.9

Usage Rate is also a very important stat. It shows how often a ball goes through a players hand each time down the court and how much on each possession. There are only 12 players averaging a 30% usage rate or higher. I will show you those guys but dont really have too much to show or talk about on the usage rate. I see that I own 4 of the top 12 usage rate guys. I just added Griffin so lets say he doesnt count. That means I still have owned 3 of top 12 and that could be good reason why my team is over achieving this early in season.

1. Harden  35.9
2. Porzingis 34.0
3. Cousins  33.8
4. GA  33.8
5. Embiid  33.7
6. Westbrook 33.3
7. Irving  31.1
8. Curry  30.8
9. Lebron  30.3
10. Lillard  30.1
11. Griffin  30.0
12. Oladipo  30.0
